SketchCrawl-Thursday August 4th
Hello again,
It is time for another SketchCrawl here in Rochester!
Again we will be working with the South Wedge Farmers Market* where we will be sketching, painting and creating down in the "wedge" this coming Thursday August 4th from 4-7 pm.
We will have dedicated SketchCrawl space for our use to capture all that goes on around us. You hang there or check out other parts of the market. As usual, there is no charge to participate.
As an aside, I just returned from Portugal where I attended the three day Urban Sketching Symposium (http://symposium.urbansketchers.org/) which culminated with the 32nd World Wide SketchCrawl. There were approximately 300 people sketching and painting in the Praco do Commercio. The energy that surrounds a group of people (large or small) who share the same passion for creating is infectious and inspiring. So come out and take a break from the week you will be glad you did.
If you have questions, drop a comment here or shoot us an email: Genine at g9@rochester.rr.com or Rachael at rachaelbaldanza@yahoo.com
SEE YOU ON THURSDAY!!

*The South Wedge Farmers Market brings fresh, local sustainably-grown foods to the South Wedge and nearby neighborhoods every Thursday, 4-7 pm, from June 2 through October 20. This lively, popular community gathering spot also offers live music, community groups, and activities for kids in the shade of the big trees behind Boulder Coffee at the corner of Alexander and S. Clinton.

Rochester Sketchcrawl will be drawing on Saturday April 16th *
We’ll meet Saturday April 16 at 10 am at the Highland Bowl in Highland Park. Rain or Shine.
See more at http://rochestersketchcrawl.blogspot.com/
Sketchcrawl participation is free and easy, just bring your own drawing materials and come ready to draw and have fun. We will start in the park and then possibly move on—following the weather and the desires of the gathered gang.
For questions, contact Genine at g9@rochester.rr.com or 585-406-7038
Or Rachael at rachaelbaldanza@yahoo.com or 585-520-7126
*Sketchcrawling is essentially gathering in public to draw. We meet/start in one location with the option to “crawl” to others. This is part of Worldwide Sketchcrawl #31 and we hope to gather some donations or those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan (see more about that at www.sketchcrawl.com and http://give2asia.org/artistshelp).
Kids are always welcome, no instruction is provided, nobody tells you what to draw or how to draw it, it never costs a dime, and there are not a lot of rules (play nice is about the only one!)… Join us and draw!
Drawings above by Genine C. and Rachael B. and
Rochester Sketchcrawl organizers, made at past Sketchcrawl type events.

Hello out there it is SketchCrawl time again here in Rochester.
Sunday February 20th 10:30am
We are going to start out the day at Jembetat Cafe/ Gallery on Park Ave. They have a ton of Tribal Art from Central and West Africa. It's a cool place. Rachael and I scoped it out a few weeks ago. Plus there's a selection of coffee, tea, treats and more. (did somebody say gelato??? )
There is plenty of seating so bring a friend.
We will also have an option for a second stop to the crawl. I will post that info later.(if anyone out there has a request please drop a comment :) )
Hope to see you all on the 20th.
Take care and happy sketching!!
